The Republican party candidates think they can win the speed governor because they believe they can beguile American voters by lying to them (criticizing Obama on a federal bill to protect young children from predators that he did not even sponsor (the bill failed anyway)), and by not focusing on the ISSUES. The media is to blame in some measure, because they allow themselves to focus on unimportant stuff like pigs and lipstick. Next thing you know they will be devoting coverage to the merits of whether pigs can really fly. 

 

But the rate increases will be "data driven." There, I believe, three prominent scenarios here. First, if the unemployment stays around its current level of 4.2 percent, inflation remains below the Fed's 2.0 percent target, economic growth remains in the 2.0 percent to 2.5 percent range, and the stock market continues to rise or adjusts back just a little from historic highs, the Fed will proceed along the current "forward guidance" path. The target rate of increase will rise modestly without much fanfare, and things will go relatively smoothly.. 

 

When we say that we are all in this together, we mean it. Mr Deputy Speaker, the first challenge for this Budget is to set the fiscal mandate   or in other words, our overall objective for the public finances. The previous Government had two fiscal rules, one for debt and one for the current budget.
