Normally the principle of electrostatic laser publishing is as follows:

Whatever you decide to do, do NOT use booze on an organically centered drum, it will damage it. The alcohol creates the material to crystalize. I use to do copier service and this was stressed a lot through the manufacture as they switched from the old selenium drums towards new opc drums. Direct sunlight will immediately hurt the drum. If you might be replacing the drum cleansing blade or cleaning the crud off the blade, make sure you powder snow up the drum completely along with the blade before reapplying strength. Your local library must have it or have the capacity to get it. Stephen J. Bigelow has several other books on printer mend, both laser and not for laser types. All are extremely good.
